The other day when I was at Borders reading Sophie's world, I almost blurted out "Yes!" to a question asked in the book that goes something like," Have you every thought that you could be an alien?"

You know why adults are apathetic to philosophy? Its not just because they are too consumed in daily life as the book suggested but because there is no answer and even if someone was to tell you the answer, you may not believe it either. Ultimately it boils down to faith--faith in your own religion, even faith in your own philosophical saying or reasoning.

If someone was to ask me where does the world come from and how it came to be,excluding religious reasonings and with hardly much physics knowledge pass the A level standard, what do you think of the following suggestion:

The world is and is made from energy. Probably the energy builds up into something bigger and bigger till it collapses and the whole cycle repeats.

The next question would probably be " So which would have started first? Similar to the chicken and egg question."

Why can't time be a cycle? So there isn't exactly a certain event that begins first. It just depends on which part of the cycle you are looking at.

Religious people may say this is blasphemy. Well, I'm not giving an answer, only God knows the answer, I'm just thinking along a logical path on how to end those never-ending questions such as "If this is so...what creates it... ... then what creates that entity that creates it and so forth."

The physics people will probably tell me that some well-known fella has proven that time is not a cycle but linear. Well really, half a century later someone else may prove that time could be a cycle.

What this boils down to is faith and for people with no faith or who cannot decide where or what to place their faith in, they become either apathetic or become the searchers and thinkers for the truth.
